In addition to the benefits of installing heating and hot water systems which save money and reduce CO2, there are several other energy saving initiatives.
Loft Insulation
Cavity Wall Insulation
Eco Friendly Lighting Systems
Eco Friendly Heat Recovery Systems
Eco Friendly Ventilation Aids
Loft insulation is a simple and affordable way of preventing heat loss from your home.
An estimated 25% of heat is lost through the roof of an insufficiently insulated home. Most houses have been fitted with insulation material, but unfortunately the thickness is not sufficient to prevent heat loss and also the material has deteriorated in efficiency.
Grants are available for installing loft installation
The government are offering incentives for householders to reduce their energy costs and reduce the amount of CO2 they produce. If you are aged 70 or over, are disabled or receiving benefits you may be able to get free insulation. Alternatively you may be eligible for a non-refundable loft insulation grant of 40% or over which is available to each household.
Benefits of loft insulation
Cavity wall insulation is a simple and affordable way of preventing heat loss from your home. An estimated 35% of your heat is lost through the external walls.
Cavity wall insulation will reduce these losses by injecting material between the inner and outer walls preventing heat transfer.
The cavity wall insulation can only be applied if your house has been constructed with an air gap between the two layers of brickwork.
How do I tell if my walls are suitable?
If your brickwork looks like the picture and all the bricks are layered long ways then you will have an air gap which suits this process. If you see half bricks then the wall is solid and unsuitable.
Will the work cause a lot of disruption?
The work will be carried out externally and will need a series of holes to be drilled into the existing brickwork. The insulating material is injected through the holes into the cavity on completion of the works the holes are filled in and blended to suit the overall brickwork appearance.

Recent improvements in low energy lighting mean that we can achieve your preferred lighting levels and still save you money on your electricity bills.
LED lighting units can be installed that can achieve electrical savings of up to 75% on your bills.
Low Energy lighting units, which also provide significant electrical savings and reduce your CO2 emissions, are also available.
Externally we can help save you money through the installation of programmable security lighting and passive infra red units which turn the lights on when a presence is detected.
A simple review of your current lighting systems could yield considerable savings on your electricity bills.
All properties are required by Building Regulations to have a continuous flow of fresh air which replaces the stale internal air and creates a pleasant living environment. This requirement creates a situation where the ‘warm air’ you have created through your heating system is discharged into the outside air and you bring in cooler air from the outside.
We can install either whole house or room specific heat recovery systems which will save you money on your heating bills by minimising lost heat.
The whole house heat recovery systems are normally loft based and use the heat generated within the kitchen, bathroom, living areas to warm cooler incoming air. The air is then fed by ducting into the upstairs area – already warmed.
The room specific units are normally fitted to rooms which generate heat and require a continuous flow of fresh air such as kitchens and bathrooms. These units make considerable savings by capturing “lost heat”.
We can advise you on the most suitable and efficient systems which will save you money.
Inefficient radiators often fail to radiate sufficient heat around the full extent of your room.
We can install a simple electrical fan which fits to your radiator and blows the warm air with sufficient flow to enable it to circulate around the whole room. This provides an even temperature and allows you to reduce the overall setting of the room thermostat.
